This past weekend we had our people on both of our campuses write down the names of the 5 people they are going to be praying for and inviting to church on Easter Sunday. This week, I started to pray for names, that God would open up their hearts and prepare them to join us on Easter. As we were eating dinner, Allison, my 14 year old, shared with us a short testimony. She went on to share about a classmate who she has been talking to for quite some time about church. This young man is real negative about church, simply due to the fact that he has never been showed love. Allison has tried to invite him in the past, but he refused, not wanting to hang our with “hypocrites” (his words). However, the day after Allie put his name down on the card, and started to pray for him, she saw him at school. Once again, she invited him to church, and this time, a different response. He went on to tell her that he has been thinking that it is time to try church once more, and that he will think about coming. He went on to tell Allison about his abusive home life, and that he is looking for hope and peace in his life. Allie said, “ Dad, he was the first name I put on my “My Save 5” card. I prayed for him, and he is thinking about coming to church.”
I have received e-mails from around the country from pastor who are ministering in small churches, to pastors who are ministering in mega size fellowships. The response has been the same…This Easter, churches are going to be overflowing with people who need to connect with God…”Today is the day of Salvation…”
